Although the pandemic has ended, the global economy still experiences turbulence and uncertainty. Amidst all this, China shows signs of recovery reflected by its 5.2 percent growth rate in 2023 and its increase in both imports and exports at the start of 2024, signaling demand recovery. These are indications that despite the challenging business climate being the toughest in a decade, China remains a market of great importance that many companies cannot afford to overlook. Recent developments like China’s visa-free policy are evidence of its determination to open up and attract global investment in 2024.

For the 9th year running the Benelux Chamber of Commerce in China carried out the Sino Benelux Business Survey (SBBS), supported by MSA.

What is the Sino Benelux Business Survey?
The SBBS is an initiative by the Benelux Chamber of Commerce in China, supported by MSA, which is conducted with the main aim of providing start-ups, SMEs and larger businesses with insight on the performance and expectations of Belgian, Dutch and Luxembourgish businesses in operating in China.

The main topics covered in the 2024 Sino Benelux Business Survey will include performance over the last year, demographics, business climate, future expectations and much more.

Insight from the Survey
While the scope of the survey is limited to businesses from the aforementioned countries, the insights and knowledge from the results can provide businesses from other countries with a better understanding of the business landscape in China over the previous year and in expectations in the year to come.

The SBBS is also conducted to provide businesses based abroad with insight into the performance of European businesses in the Chinese market.
